 DYNAMITE DAN
 Mirrorsoft 1985

 CONTROLS : Keyboard, Kempston, Cursor
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------
AIM : Dan's girlfriend has been kidnapped and locked in the vault
of a massive mansion inhabited by all sorts of unpleasant creatures.
Arriving in an airship, Dan must rescue his girl.

GAMEPLAY : The house is divided up into 48 slightly overlapping
screens, six high, eight wide, but they wrap around horizontally
which effectively makes the building a cylinder. Along the bottom
runs a river, which can be negotiated by waiting for a raft to
float by, jumping down onto it and keeping up with it by walking
at its speed. Falling into the water is fatal unless you have
found an oxygen bottle. Other collectable items are the eponymous
sticks of dynamite (eight are needed to blow open the door of the
vault), a weapon to defend yourself against the creatures in the
house, and food to keep up your energy level.

You will also come across various obstacles and helpful features -
trampolines, rooms entirely filled with trampolines, tightropes,
teleports and a lift. Fortunately for Dan he's a fairly athletic
type, able to jump and land gracefully (although if he falls too
 far he's dead).

COMMENTS : "A highly playable, fun and addictive game"
 RATING : 94% (CRASH #18, July 1985)

 NOW : A pretty-looking platform game; a little old-fashioned though.
